This session will outline current guidance for practice that can reduce the risk of SSI. This will include an update about the OneTogether collaboration and the resources available to all that work on the surgical pathway.

 

Biography:

Kathryn Topley, MSc, Advanced Health Care Practice, Dip (Infection Control), Cert Ed, RGN, has many years’ experience in healthcare. Specialising in infection prevention and control. Kathryn has held a range of positions within healthcare. Kat has a special interest in surgical site infection and this has been a focus of her activity and current role within UK 3M PLC. Kat is an active member of the Infection Prevention Society (IPS) and has a role on their scientific planning committee and is a non-elected Trustee of The Association for Peri-Operative Practice.
